Shut down all those I'm not afraid websites

although its nice to wallow in a bit of jingoistic self pity occasionally - the We're Not Afraid website really takes the biscuit for cheesy emotional outpouring. The idea is a simple one, everyone around the world sending pictures of themselves or their cats with a sign saying we're not afraid. This is utterly stupid - of course you're not afraid because you live in Belgium / Brazil / Scotland and don't have to get the tube to work. Your cat's not afraid because it doesn't have to get the tube to work at all. As if posting a picture of your cat dressed up in a stupid uniform is going to really scare off the terrorists - "ooh Brad who lives in bumsville Idaho isn't afraid, he's got an Uzi and a cat dressed up - I was going to blow up tonnes of shit, but now i'm just going to cower in my cave/council flat". You can even buy tshirts with typically British messages as "Tea Dammit!". My orders? just send the money direct to the people who need it, and stop getting all emotional about it - you were lucky they missed you.

Dear Kimondo Dictator

I'm with you 110% on this one. Particularly when Brad etc claim not to be afraid and then post a picture of a squirel rather than themselves. Could this be beacause they are just the tinyist bit afraid.
