ban luggage trolleys. Not the gigantic cary-5-cases type, but the integrated weekend luggage style carrier. For some reason people love to wheel these around on the tube at rush hour. Only yesterday I saw someone with one of these - the case it was carrying was about the size of a shoebox, yet it required a long handle and wheels. Not only do these horrific devices take up 3 times as much space as a more sensible type of luggage carrier system (what's wrong with a rucksack?) but their users inevitably force busy late-for-work commuters to stop - first when they have to erect the handle, and then when they encounter any kind of obstacle (stairs, escalators, buskers etc.). If you insist on going to your country retreat (which also forces up local house prices) from the city at weekends use a sensible bag - one perhaps that you can carry!.
